Augmenting Quality and Relevance of Higher Agricultural Education through Enhanced Learning Outcome and Entrepreneurship Development

One day webinar on “Prevention of Stress during Pandemic” was organized for the students and staff of University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad on 21st May, 2021 to give awareness on management of stress during pandemic. Dr. Ali Khwaja, Chairman of Banjara Academy from Bengaluru was invited as chief guest. Dr. Ashalatha K. V., Co-ordinator, IDP, welcomed the guest and participants. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. M.B.Chetti, UAS, Dharwad, expressed that we should focus on opportunities rather than problems, which can lead to more opportunities, this will improve the confidence level and improve our quality of life and in turn helps to become a good entrepreneurs. He also added that exploring to different fields of lockdown situation will also impact positively on our lives, He urged all to think positively and broadly to come out of stress. Dr. Ali Khwaja emphasized on routines and expressed that routines are essential because they create a sense of normalcy and control our lives. This sense of control then allows us to manage the challenges that come across our lives and helps to step down the stress during pandemic. When we don’t have a routine, much our time is spent trying to establish the routine and stress will increase.So we should try to focus on things which we love and look for the possibilities around us to come out of stress. Wider dreaming will expand our thinking and short term goal will definitely help to reach long term goal directly or indirectly he added. During lockdown our body is locked, but not our mind so creative visualization will remove all the stress to survive in this pandemic. He also advised that management of stress is essential for good physical health, and it is especially important right now as our world facing the COVID-19 pandemic.  He also taught the Mythical “TRATAK” technique to the participants to come out of eye strain due to working for long hours on computers during lockdown period. More than 490 members participated in the webinar including participants from other country/ state and ICAR officials from New Delhi. Dr. S. S. Dolli gave vote of thanks. Dr. K. V. Ashalatha organized the event and other IDP staff were also present.
