College of Agriculture, Hanumanamatti is a constituent College of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwadwas established during August 2011 and inaugurated on 5th September 2011 by the Chief Minister of Karnataka with an objective to impart quality education and conduct of research and extension activities in agriculture and vision to serve the needs of farming community. It is located on Pune-Bengaluru National Highway (NH4).

ICAR in collaboration with University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, started KVK at Hanumanamattiin the year 1976. It was the first KVK in Karnataka and Second in South India. Since 1986, it came under the jurisdiction of UAS, Dharwad and involved in the transfer of agricultural technologies to the farming community. Agricultural Research Station was also established in the year 1976 to cater the needs of farming community and recently merged with College. Total area of the campus is 108 ha, out of which 20 ha has been handed over to KVK.  it is 20 ha. New College building with well-equipped class rooms was established during 2015 in an area of 1740 sq.m. First floor of College building having an area of 1740 sq. m. is newly constructed and most of the departments are having their own independent laboratory/practical halls. Overall infrastructure, in terms of number and quality of teaching staff, supporting staff, class rooms, laboratory, laboratory equipments, conveyance etc., are adequate.

The college has seven classrooms equipped with ICT facilities. Besides, each department has such facility to support UG teaching.College Library has 11,125 books including textbooks and reference books and access to Online-Journals, E-books, Agricat, India stat and CeRA, Krishikosh (online thesis) from UAS Library, UAS, Dharwad, Karnataka.  Library is provided with internet and wi-fi facility. Sixteen high quality CCTV Cameras are installed for easy and effective monitoring. English language laboratory based on ECT is recently established in the College. College is having adequate well-equipped laboratories, workshop, Dairy Plant, Veterinary Clinic and Hatchery. Instructional Farm having sufficient area is maintained to conduct practical classes for the students in the field. A total number of 300 students graduated in B. Sc. (Hons) Agriculture degree programme from this college upto 2018-19, which comprises of 139 boys and 111 girls.

Students’ amenities include sports, cultural, free internet, reading room, hospital and personality development are also available in the campus. Students of the degree programme are participating in state and national level programmes of NSS, NCC, sports and youth festivals. College has separate hostels for boys and girls with all the adequate facilities. Boys hostel has the capacity to accommodate 120 students with 30 rooms. The new girl’s hostel has 75 rooms with an accommodation capacity of 150 students. New boys hostel construction work is under progress. College is having well maintained outdoor and indoor game facilities to keep students fit and healthy and also well-equipped auditorium of 200 seats capacity with air conditioners, LCD with electronic podium and multimedia control unit.
