Augmenting Quality and Relevance of Higher Agricultural Education through Enhanced Learning Outcome and Entrepreneurship Development

The webinar on “Impact of construction and demolition waste on environment” was organised on 18th, July, 2020 under The World Bank funded ICAR-NAHEP-IDP. Mr Sreeshail V Yakkundimath, Associate Director, Infra Support Engineering Consultants PVT, LTD, Bangalore was invited as resource person. The programme started with formal welcome of participants by Dr. Ashalatha K. V. Associate co-ordinater, NAHEP-IDP.

Dr. M. B. Chetti, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Team Leader, IDP, UAS, Dharwad inaugurated the webinar. During his inaugural speech expressed the concern about the impact of the construction and demolition wastes on animal and human health apart from its impact on ecosystem as a whole. He urged on the importance on reuse and recycling of waste products in proper way so that gap in the demand –supply sectors can also be addressed.

The lead speaker Mr. Sreeshail V. Yakkundimath, expressed that management of solid waste is most important factor to save our environment. He raised concerns about poor management and under utilization of valuable resources of waste in India. During his presentation he briefed about the guidelines of Construction and Demolition Waste Management-2016, by the Government of India and provided necessary tips to overcome the poor management of solid wastes in India.

The Webinar was organised by Er. S. C. Mirajkar and Dr. Jyoti Vastrad, Nodal officers, NAHEP-IDP, UAS, Dharwad. Dr. Ashalatha K. V. Associate co-ordinator, Dr. P. U. Krishnaraj Principal Investigator, NAHEP-IDP, all  other nodal officers and staff of IDP were actively participated in the programme.
