A National webinar on “Workplace Wellness and its Impact on Life Style” was organized to the students and faculty of UAS, Dharwad on 05.08.2020 to understand how to change our attitude towards better healthy and happy life style. The Vice Chancellor UAS Dharwad Dr. M.B.Chetti in the inaugural address of training programme highlighted the importance of employers’ social and behavioural factors in their wellness platforms. Organizations of today have started becoming aware about closing the gap between employee well being and workplace productivity. A conscious effort is being made by corporate to improve the overall wellness of their workforce.
The participants of the webinar were addressed by Padmashri Dr. C. N. Manjunath who is a renowned cardiologist and the Director of the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bengaluru. Dr. C. N. Manjunath narrated the importance of employees wellness. They discussed 12 workplace wellness Commendments, workplace rules for happy life, nine commandments for better career building for successful living, awareness on covid-19 pandemic and precautionary measures.
They also elaborated the 4 major threats India facing today such as, Loneliness and job losses, Water and weather crisis, Vulnerable economy and Life style diseases. They also briefed about Disease burden in India, conventional risk factors for coronary heart diseases and general medication methods. Low blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, weight and waist circumference are the best formulas for healthy heart. Dr. P. U.
