Dr. M. D. Patil, welcome and overview of the programme
Interaction with Students on International Training under Institutional Development Plan (IDP) with special reference to IOWA State University, USA was organized on 18th Nov 2019. At the outset of Dr. M. D. Patil Nodal Officer extended a warm welcome to Dr. Shrishail Navi Associate Scientist, Dept.of Plant Pathology and Microbiology, IOWA State University USA, Dr. S. B. Kalaghatagi, Dean (Agri), College of Agriculture, Vijaypur and students and faculty of the college.
Dr. Shrishail Navi gave an overview of the International training with special reference to IOWA State University, USA with details on the infrastructure facilities, training areas, rules and policies etc. He emphasized on the international regulations and policies while undergoing training especially at the IOWA State University. It was very informative talk by Dr. Navi, especially for the students who wanted to know the training areas, facilities and what are the competencies the training can bring in. He also highlighted social and cultural aspects of the training. He also touched upon the efforts made by both the universities for the MoU to facilitate the training programme for the benefit of both students and faculty.
Both faculty and students interacted with Dr. Navi and got their doubts cleared on various aspects including the different scientific streams, other fellowships, opportunities etc. Dr. Navi could interact satisfactorily with all the attendees. At the end, Dr. S. B. Kalaghatagi appreciated the efforts made by Dr Navi and UAS administration in formulating MoU and advised students to take the benefit of the same. The session was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. M. D. Patil.
