IDEATHON: A platform for students to pitch in their idea to develop innovation
IDEATHON under IDP:
The main objective of conducting ideathon is to facilitate students to generate promising idea (s) that can solve the problems faced by farmers/ other stake holders in agriculture and allied areas. Any such idea(s) would be mentored by experts in the area and nurtured to develop promising product (s). IDEATHON is a two days event where students present their ideas in a group before the team of experts. Schedule of IDEATHON workshops in different campuses

Report on completed workshop
The Ideathon workshop was organized at the College of Forestry, Sirsi on 16th and 17th January, 2020. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. I. S. Katageri, Dean (Forestry). Sharing his experience he stressed on identifying a good problem in the field of forestry. Dr. S. S. Dolli, Professor and nodal officer (SS)IDP-UASD explained the procedure for evaluation of the business ideas. The nodal officers of the IDP-College of Forestrty, Sirsi, vz. Dr. R. Vasudeva, and Dr.HShivanna introduced the workshop theme and the resource persons to the students. First stage Mrs.Rohini shared her start up success story following by discussion and second day two resource person discussed on the student presentation. Fifty Undergraduate students had participated and benefitted by this intensively worskshop. Resource persons fromDespande Sandbox Startups from Hubli interacted with the students and provided tips to students on pitch the business ideas apart from sharing their success stories. A total of seven ideas were considered for mentoring and guidance. Student teams ranging from 3 to 6 presented the business pitches.
